By now, many individuals have potentially heard about the band Paramore. Not only are they climbing up the charts, but they just released their latest album, brand spanking new Eyes. supporting their new album, Paramore is coming at 7:30 pm Nov. 8th to the Fillmore in Denver.
Even though the 1st single to get airplay, Ignorance, is burned into your grey matter, it does not mean the entire album is as annoyingly familiar. Brand spanking new Eyes shows that Paramore has grown massively since their last album.
On their prior album, Riot! lead vocalist Hayley Williams stressed a lighthearted, bouncy voice that came thru best on their most well liked song, Anguish Business. On this latest album, her voice has less bounce and more power behind it. It really gives the words more pressure and meaning. The 1st song on the new album is Careful. Careful is about how someone can close themselves off and be too careful, and not basically experience life to its fullest. It’s a good way to open their new album and show their fans how they have modified the past two years. The tune shows that they’re having a look at things in a darker, more mature way than on their prior album. The hammering drums that are the center of the band’s dynamic launch the vocals and the thrashing guitars make the track a great opener. The best song on the album by a long way is Playing God. though Williams is singing about interband struggles, the words could apply to several different relations that folks go thru. The words show that Williams is bored with being told what to do by folks who are hypocritical. Though Williams sings with sour sarcasm, she also shows some of her weakness thru the words : This is the last moment chance / I am half as good as it is getting / without a pointer of regret / I will hold you to it. The last song on the album All I Wanted, has extremely cryptic words that jump around often.
The listener can’t actually identify what Williams is singing about. On the surface it may be taken as a straightforward love or break up song. This song shows that Williams is very dedicated to the relationship she is singing about. Words like I could follow you to the start, simply to relive the start, and perhaps then we’ll remember to decelerate, at all our favourite parts show that she craves for the time when a relationship is fresh and new. Her vocals are really strong next to the soaring guitar riffs and battering drums. Paramore has grown up since Riot! and Unhappiness Business but they have kept their hard rocking sound. They have still got suggestive words that everybody at one time or another can relate to but they sound a bit more aware that not everything in life is simple.
