Direct Effects of the Music on the Productivity

Filed under: Best Music, Online Lifestyle Resources — @ 4:25 am

In a well known study some years back, highschool scholars listened to Mozart before an examination and received higher marks that their non-listening opposite numbers.

Whether or not the kid no longer plays music as a grown up, the advantages of music last a whole life. 18th Jan has been highlighted by lecturers as certain to be the most depressing day of 2010, realizing that it is hard for the majority to be contented.

But Entertainment Media Research discovered that listening to inspiring music is the most well-liked activity to combat the blues. Employee’s Replies to playing music that was liked ended in them returning a mood rating that was twenty p.c. higher than in a ‘no music’ state and 13% higher than in a ‘neutral music’ state. And it’s exacly a matter of workplace productivity. Productivity is slightly increased when music is played in the office premises.

According to an article released on the Institute of Leadership & Management’s web site, chiefs could cut the amount of sick days by 7,000,000 and increase office productiveness just by switching on the radio. For a few years doctors have overtly used background music to help them remain relaxed and centered during surgical procedures. What are presently looking analysts is the involuntary effect that would produce a good effect on performances. In some difficult operations or actions, perhaps there is some positive result on our physiology, not only our conscious mood. Radio as an example, when used in the office environment has the advantage playing the bulk of songs normally familiar, and radio programmers know well that unfamiliar songs could cause up to 30 percent of their audience to tune out.

A New Band’s Guide to Getting the Right Live Sound

Filed under: Best Music, Better Tuition, Leisure + Recreation — @ 10:18 am

When you are a new band, playing live is nerve wracking enough without having to worry about the front of house sound. Surely it’s enough to be concerned about whether your finely crafted and highly practised material will stand up to public scrutiny, or if you’ll make a tube of yourself by falling off the stage in front of the gathered mass of friends and family.

Very important things both, but there are a number of simple things you can do to help yourselves and the sound engineer ensure you have the best possible sound coming through the PA. With that sorted you can worry less about the sound and more about whether you look like a tool in your new skinny jeans and winkle pickers.

First and most importantly arrive on time, en masse and fully equipped for your sound check. The sound check is as important as the live performance as this is the time the sound engineer will tune the PA system to get the best from your performance.

He will tweak the system to suit your style of music, vocals and tone as well as familiarise himself with your set-up and any requirements you may have that are slightly out of the ordinary. It’s no good showing to your first gig five minutes before you are due to go on with an unexpected twelve piece choir and full brass section and expect the engineer to accommodate them and get them sounding their best. No doubt he will do his best, but the sound may not be as good as it could be and your performance may suffer as a result.

Arriving on time will allow you to have a relaxed and thorough sound check, to solve any little problems that might come up and for you to familiarise yourselves with the venue and stage layout.

Learn How to Sing in the Uk

Filed under: Best Music — @ 12:47 pm

Have you ever sung in a choir where they told you to sing up when the notes go up and sing down when the notes go down? If you would like to learn how to sing well, you need to understand that music is not nebulous. When the notes go up one needs to know how far to go up and that is where “knowing intervals” is very significant. There are many places to take singing lessons in the uk and they will help you greatly.

Did you ever have someone tell you that if you want to learn the intervals all you need to do is match the interval with the opening notes of a well-known song? If you can respond yes to any of these questions, I have one more for you, “Do any of these things work?”

Intervals are very clear-cut. You must be able to perceive sound and sing intervals. Singing music is poles apart from just singing one interval at a time. Especially when sight-singing, one must be able to sing each interval after another without stopping. How could anyone execute sight singing exercises if one has to be constantly thinking about the first phrase of a song?

Sight singing practice should be done just like language. Originally, you hear the words or the music, and afterward you say the words or sing the song! The way that you learned language was to speak first and then read and then to put it in writing.

Music is the same way. Initially, you listen, then you sing, then you are educated as to what the music “looks like” that you have been singing. That is the first step to reading. Then you can write the tune and then you can begin to go back and “sight read” or “sight sing” that which is already known to you!

Now, as long as the music lessons are designed for your level and as long as they progress in sequence, you can easily learn how to sing better. Usually in a vocal music lesson, one does not get sequential sight singing practice. Every now and then, a singing teacher may suggest certain sight singing volumes, but how can one hear what one is looking at unless they have first been trained? That would be like saying to a Mexican, here is a Chinese book, go and read it.

Have you ever been told to get your first note from the piano then sing the next note before playing it on the piano to confirm it? In fact, do you know of anybody who could say that worked for them?

Do you know that some people make a living by sight singing? That means they do not have much time to study the music. It also can be assumed that they have in all probability, experienced the sight reading and sight sing of similar music beforehand.

The End Of The Ticket Tout

Filed under: Best Music, Entertainment Web — @ 2:59 pm

It’s forever been tough to get hold of a ticket for a sports event of music gig. For Instance, the whole 2007 tour of the England saw Manic Street Preachers sell all their tickets in just 1 hour. How does someone who is at work while the tickets are on sale actually get a ticket?

Go online and buy one.

In the dark days prior to the internet, you had to purchase your second-hand ticket via a dodgy tout at the actual event. This meant getting cheated, or even possibly being given bogus tickets which would likely be recognized as such as you tried to enter the gig - meaning you not only miss the game or concert, you’ve wasted a bundle of cash in the process.

However, the situation has improved for sports and music devotees. The secondary ticket marketplace has improved remarkably in the last decade or so, with much thanks to the internet. Now there is so much competition to resell tickets on the internet, the market has become self-regulating. You’re offering the ticket for HOW much cash?! I’ll look elsewhere! Many ticket sellers offer insurance if the sports event / music gig is called off. And with strong competition online, secondary tickets have dropped in price to the stage that it can sometimes be you’re not spending much more than the actual original price of the ticket. Many ticket buyers look at prices between dozens of traders selling secondary tickets for the same event. They evaluate the prices, seating, insurance, and even history of the vendor prior to deciding to purchase or not - so the power has very much shifted away from the tout of days gone by to the ticket buyer.

Nowadays you can purchase tickets for many sorts of concerts and sporting events. From cricket to soccer to basketball matches, right through to getting hold of decent seats for a world famous band; resale tickets provide a 2nd opportunity to attend the concert you want to go to. How can you get tickets online? Simply use a search engine and key in your words like Eddie Izzard tickets, and you’ll find a large array of secondary ticket brokers who have the ticket you’re searching for.

Not all people are content with secondary tickets however. Some people label resale ticket sellers as parasites, and wish to see the forbiddance of resale tickets. They don’t seem to see the worthwhile service resale tickets bring : some people simply do not have the time to line up for tickets.

Music is a Neverending Story

There are several avenues in life that should remain a lifelong journey, and one of which that often gets overlooked is music. The process of learning is continual, and infinite. Genre seem to stem out on an almost daily basis. They not only feed off of subcultures and fashion, but also on other influences such as politics and pop culture.

Finding your niche is only the first step, and in all truth ought to be taken as soon as possible. Often developed before adulthood, it provides the necessary road map for the travels that await the remainder of years. In a day and age now where one weekend can open you up to a series of new bands, genres, and possibilities, the internet has proved to be one the greatest substitute teachers for the lack of suitable music aficionados.

Major culturally injected cities can often provide its hungry ears with sufficient sites and on-air or off-air programs. Whether you’re rummaging through music in LA, Portland, or New York you can definitely find a worthwhile link online. Cities big and small in areas such as Southern California can organize these online bundles of information or worldwide use. Inland Empire web design firms may or may not necessarily be employed for smaller tasks as these, but the message and fame of bands still manage to make themselves known.

Interview With Josh Epstein of Vision Music USA

Filed under: Best Music — @ 9:23 am

Vision Music USA is a proactive and progressive music service firm with the interest of their clients the driving force that makes them successful. President Josh Epstein and CEO Nick Stamoulis are focused on helping the Independent artists to maintain control of their career by saving them time and their hard-earned dollars. Josh took some time from his busy day to talk to me about their growing company.

MuzikMan: How did you and Nick meet? What interest and goals did you share that brought you together? What are your backgrounds and what qualifies you to provide all of these services to Independent artists?

Josh: Nick and I met in Boston. I was working as the Publicist at the Mama Kin Music Hall co-owned by Aerosmith. Nick and I care very much about music and musicians. Both Nick and I have always wanted to work in music. Specifically, we want to work on our own terms. Individually we have worked with people who care more about money then actually helping artists. We have seen hard working musician’s be deceived by manipulators posing as true professionals. Our goal is to own and run a company that is a true resource for independent musicians. We both bring very specific talents to our company. Vision Music USA is Nick and Josh. A major prerequisite to gaining employment with Vision is to share not only our beliefs but our work ethic.

What qualifies Nick and I to assist others with their careers is our ability to relate to the artist. We have both spent several years in the trenches, similar to hard working musicians. Nick and I have worked in several key aspects of the music industry (booking, radio, marketing, artist development, promotions, management, etc). As the Showcase Coordinator for the NEMO Music Showcase and Conference I evaluated over 2,000 bands and musicians. I credit my ear for music and my eye for critiquing press kits to that conference. We chose to work with independent musicians for many reasons. One, with our assistance they might not be independent for long. Two, we have always wanted to provide the resources independent bands need to take their career’s to the next level. This is what is so exciting. This is what makes going to work a pleasure. It’s knowing that you are making an immediate impact in someone’s career.

MuzikMan: Where did you get the name Vision Music USA? How long have you been in business and how does an artist know that you are the real deal and really a “No Bullshit Firm” that you profess to be? Do you have actual testimony from customers that supports that statement?

Josh: Vision is simply the artists own vision. It is where they perceive their career is headed. This is all before we start with them. Once we start with an artist we take their vision to the next level. Vision Music USA has been in business for about two years. “No bullshit firm” is Nick’s idea. It is very true. It means that we don’t give the artist the runaround. We know how important their time is. We see it as a privilege to be working with the people we do. An artist sees this when the two owners of the company are constantly involved or supervising their project. We are very proud of our testimonials. When our customers take the time to express their happiness with our work it truly makes our day. All of our customer testimonials are on our website.

MuzikMan: What happens if a particular artist is not satisfied with something you have done, what is your recourse?

Josh: The customer is always right. I learned that at an early age from my father who owned a clothing store. We make our clients feel like family. If there is a problem with a portion of a service we do our best to appease the situation. Nick and I will always find an amicable solution for both parties.

MuzikMan: Are you both available to communicate with on the phone or by e-mail during normal business hours? How long does it take you to respond to a clients query?

Josh:e are very busy. However, we are very accessible. Nick and both give our email addresses out freely. If we are busy, our procedure is to return all calls in 24 hours. For the most part, most people contact us and our employees via email.

MuzikMan: What made you decide to take the chance, quit your day jobs, and make this a full time gig? Most people are not willing to take that chance, what makes you different?

Josh: We both knew it was going to work. We have put countless hours of time into Vision Music USA. We feel that we have an innovative idea. We provide services to those who need it. Additionally, our services are very cost effective. This isn’t a get rich quick scheme. Nick and I are interested in making money long term while helping musician’s attain their individual goals.

MuzikMan: What can an artist expect to get in return for all of your services? What is the goal for each specific client?

Josh: First and foremost, we are consultants. It is our job to customize a client’s service to fit their needs. With our assistance, the artist will have a far greater understanding of where they stand and where they need to go. For example,if an artist purchases a Press Kit Development package we completely critique their original work. After this critique we give them the recommend suggestions they need. We point the artist in a direction they are comfortable with. The goal is to bring them more recognition and make the press kit more effective for the artist. Each client’s goals are assessed on a customized basis. This is our philosophy.

MuzikMan: Where does Vision Music USA want to go from here?

Josh: We would like to maintain our growth. We will be developing more products and services for our customers. It is important to Vision Music USA to maintain and continually develop relationships with other companies. We have a few other ideas but that’s another interview.

MuzikMan: Do you both feel that eventually labels will not exist and all artists will have complete control of their work in the aspects of production, distribution and promotion? A lot of that is happening on the Internet right now, do you think it’s a good thing? Are there some drawbacks to this radical departure from the status quo?

Josh: If people can do things on their own that was never possible, then go for it. Artists should have more control over their own work in general. I think the internet is amazing. Considering what I do for a living. I feel there are too may artists who don’t fully understand what a record deal is. Too many artists think getting signed is the goal. I think it should be the start.

Take your Career to YOUR next level with Vision Music USA!

Vision Music USA is a TRUE independent musician’s resource!

Perfect Pitch: Is it Really Necessary?

Filed under: Best Music — @ 12:48 pm

What is perfect pitch? It’s when tones can be identified when heard. For example, if I play a G note on the piano and someone can name that note correctly, they are considered to have perfect pitch.

Is perfect pitch necessary in order to play and create music? NOT AT ALL!

You don’t even have to know what notes you’re playing in order to make music. Having perfect pitch is not the great asset some would have you believe it is. Yet many students want to acquire this skill.

Let’s see what having perfect pitch can actually do for you. It can let you know what key you’re playing in. Nice, but we have key signatures that make this task obsolete. Most musicians are already aware of the key they’re playing in before they sit down to play. Even jazz musicians determine key before playing. True, they may deviate from the original key but having perfect pitch is not required for this.

You can tell what note you’re playing when you play it. So what! A typist knows what letter they’re typing when then input it into the keyboard but knowing what the letter is doesn’t make for good writing.

Having perfect pitch is not really a skill anyone should waste their time learning. If you do have it (and some people are born with this ability) then great. If you don’t, please save your time and energy and don’t be sold on the idea that knowing what note you’re playing will make you a great musician. It won’t. It will make you aware of what note you’re playing and that’s that. Nice for the ego. Unnecessary for making music… no matter what instrument you play.
