Cellular/Mobile Future

Filed under: House Of Information — @ 11:47 pm

How times change, and how quickly change arrives these days is
quite alarming, I remember my friends and relatives purchasing
their first Mobile/Cellular products and being so proud to hold
their new phones to their ears, showing off slightly and making
sure everyone noticed as they removed their funny sounding and
quite large looking new gizmo to take another call, only to be
cut off half way through the call and another 5 or 6 times
because of a poor signal or they happened to be facing the wrong
way.

Thankfully those times are mostly behind us and while we all
still experience problems with our new phones or a poor signal
from time to time I think its fair to say that there have been
leaps and strides in technology allowing us to do a great deal
more with our phones other than take a call or impress your
friends with your new toy. And while the technology has moved
forward so has the content available to customize
Mobile/Cellular phones. If you happen to have an older model of
some phones you may still be experiencing the monophonic sounds
emitting from your phone, not exactly easy on the ear but still
more exciting than a standard phones “ring ring” or “bleep
bleep” These days you now have the choice of Polyphonic,
Monophonic, Realtones/Truetones and with new ideas and
technology always in the works. Then there are the colourful
backgrounds and animated pictures and now of course there are
amusing video clips and quality games to keep you occupied and
really give you a chance to fully customize your Mobile/Cellular
phone to your exact needs and tastes.

During the Christmas period many individuals will be lucky
enough to receive a new Mobile/Cellular phone from their loved
ones and the opportunity to customize their handset with the
latest Tones, Games and Videos, infact anything they want to
truly make their handset unique. The choice of content for your
handset constantly increases, with providers like
http://ringtonesbase.com regularly updating their available and
exciting content to keep up with the latest trends.

In the near future and with the ever increasing advances in
technology we can’t help wondering and getting excited about the
new and fun ways that we will be able to use and benefit from
our handsets in the years to come.

Home Theater Systems: Choosing the Best System

Filed under: Life Of Products — @ 9:43 pm

Sitting down and watching movies is a wonderful escape from the stressful lifestyle we live in today. Movie watching on a wide screen television with surround sound has the ability whisk you away into the movie scene in which you are watching. This experience can make it as if you were right there participating in the movie. Until lately, we could only experience this type of escape in at a movie theater. However, modern technology may be able to provide this same sight and sound experience right in your own living room. We will look at some of the minimum requirements of a home theater system. Continue on to understand how these components can result in the best cinematic experience of a home theater system.

It is generally agreed by home theater professionals that the size of the room where you will install the home theater system is an important consideration. The television, being the main component of the home theater system, is dependent on the size of the room. It should be a minimum of 27 inches. A flat screen television is also recommended for a home theater systems because it displays less glare and gives a crisper, cleaner image on the screen. The other major component that depends on the size of the room are the speakers. The minimum number of speakers should be three but you may want to go up to six or seven if the room is large enough. Six speakers will give a lifelike surround sound. The addition of a subwoofer would complete the surround sound system like that which is found in movie theaters.

The DVD player is another major component of a home theater system. It is believed that the DVD players with progressive scan will be the best choice. Progressive scan DVD players produce sharper and flicker-free pictures. This however relates back to the choice of television unit; you may need to check if your flat screen television set supports progressive scan signals. A luxury feature would be a five-disk carrousel DVD player so that you will avoid having to stand up from your seat to change discs every so often. Another factor to consider is the power rating that will determine how loud your speaker can be. Of course, almost all these depend on the size of the room where the home theater system is going to be installed. Bigger rooms will require more equipment and some home theater furniture while smaller rooms will require less equipment. Thus, it comes down to a bigger room requires a bigger investment.

For a really great home theater system, you might want to consider hiring a home theater expert to assist you. They can advise you on the latest and greatest components and designs so that you are able to minimize future obsolescence of your system. Though this could be costly, your home theater designer may advise having some features like home theater seating or other home theater accessories that will enable you to more closely resemble a real movie theater. These items could include a popcorn cart or even a theater marquee. Having the highest quality home theater system will produce an installation that you will enable you to enjoy for many years to come.

Plant Hardiness Zones

Filed under: The Gardening Way — @ 8:30 pm

When selecting plants for the landscape, is important to select plants that will grow in your climate. The United States has 10 of growing or climate zones. These zones range from the zone 1 in the extreme northern part of United States, to his own 10, which covers the southernmost part. Zone 1, is for the most hardiest of cold weather plants. Temperatures in zone 1 can reach 50 degrees below 0. Zone 10 on the other hand, is is a more tropical climate. Zone 10 plants only need to worry about cold temperatures of 30 to 40 degrees.

Your local nursery or garden center should have plants that are appropriate for your climate zone. however, if you are buying your seeds or plants over the Internet and, or through a catalog, you need to know which climate zone you live in. For example southern Florida, extreme southern Texas, and parts of California, are in Zone 10. the rest of Florida, parts of Louisiana, Texas, and much of California, or in zone 9. Zone 8 covers much of the Southeast from eastern Virginia through the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and much of Texas. Zone 7 covers an area a little farther north than Zone 8. states in June 7th include Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, in parts of Texas. Zones 5 and 6 cover much of the middle part of United States from the New England states through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, and even much of the desert Southwest, including Nevada. Zone 4 is somewhat colder climates include states such as Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, northern New York State, the Wisconsin, South Dakota, states in the Rocky Mountains, in Montana. Zone 3 includes the cold states such as northern mean, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Zones 1and 2 are mostly found in Canada.

Average minimum temperatures for each zone
Zone 1: below minus 50 degrees
Zone to:-50 degrees to minus 40 degrees
Zone 3:-40 degrees to minus 30 degrees
Zone for:-30 degrees to -23 is
Zone 5-20 degrees to minus 10 degrees
Zone 6:-10 degrees to 0 degrees
Zone 7:0 degrees to 10 degrees
Zone 8:10 degrees to 20 degrees
Zone 9:20 degrees to 30 degrees
Zone 10:30 degrees to 40 degrees

Armed with this knowledge, you should be able to find a variety of plants that will thrive in your climate zone. And if you are in doubt, talk to your local garden center. The experts there should be able to steer you in the right direction.

Being Beautiful

Filed under: New Age + The Occult — @ 1:42 pm

Being beautiful is a force within that cannot be suppressed by those who are born with the innate drive to shine. When done correctly, beauty is appreciated, scorned, abused, denied, adored and loved. We covet other’s beauty in such magnitudes that Satan takes its form in fear, with the only Savior being acceptance. To live a life of what other people expect of you, think of you, say about you is damaging to the soul.

When you hide inside from what hurts you, you are denying yourself life, love and happiness. It hurts to say goodbye for a reason. What is each hurts reason? What do you fear? Who do you fear?

When you say goodbye, you are free. When you are free, you get what you want and become who you want to be. Not being able to choose enslaves your spirit. There is no respectable answer for anyone or thing to enslave you.

I think, if you want to be a truly beautiful person you have to conquer your coveters by accepting them as they are, and accepting yourself as you are, especially when you accept that you can shine. Live a life of what you expect of you. Everything will work the way it should- when you are free.

Creativity Management - Don’t Write, Rewrite

Filed under: Self Improvement Resources — @ 10:51 am

Creativity can be defined as problem identification and idea generation whilst innovation can be defined as idea selection, development and commercialisation.

There are other useful definitions in this field, for example, creativity can be defined as consisting of a number of ideas, a number of diverse ideas and a number of novel ideas.

There are distinct processes that enhance problem identification and idea generation and, similarly, distinct processes that enhance idea selection, development and commercialisation. Whilst there is no sure fire route to commercial success, these processes improve the probability that good ideas will be generated and selected and that investment in developing and commercialising those ideas will not be wasted.

Don’t write, rewrite

The old axiom “throw away the first draft” is one hundred percent spot on. What the axiom is really saying is split creative from critical thinking.

a) Creative thinking and critical thinking are two separate and distinct processes. The idea is to first produce, then edit.

b) Creative thinking is daring, uninhibited, free-spirited, imaginative, unpredictable and revolutionary. The use of creative thinking fills out the pages of the first novel or screenplay. It creates an idea pool full of a variety of ideas, diverse ideas and novel ideas.

c) Critical thinking is reductive, logical, focused, conservative, practical and feasible. That first draft screenplay is now refined by cutting, pasting and rewriting. That idea pool is looked over by a number of people with the required competencies to select the most valuable ideas.

One the most valuable ideas are selected, they go into development, where the BEST ideas are chosen. The Economist (2003b) states that 3000 bright ideas are needed for 100 worthwhile projects, which in turn will be winnowed down to four development programmes for new products. And four such development programmes are the minimum needed to stand any chance of getting one winner.
